THE POWER OF THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

In 1928, Edward Bernays wrote in his book ‘Propaganda’:

“We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.”

The only way this has been possible has been through the subtle manipulation of the collective subconscious mind of the masses. It is here, below the threshold of conscious thought, that so much goes on. This is the realm of dreams, of symbolism, and of techniques such as brainwashing and hypnosis. To a manipulator of ill intent, it is a blank canvas.

In this presentation, Mark Devlin will draw on his 15 years of research into the true nature of entertainment and popular culture to show how these vehicles have been weaponised, how the techniques can only work within the subconscious, and – crucially – how we can win back our own minds.
